My husband finally agreed to let me get a few chickens! I had Rhode Island reds growing up in Ohio, but now I am city living in LA! I need to get a permit, a coop, etc.
where do I begin? I am soooo excited!

First you will want to start with your town hall. I would call them to find out if you can keep chickens and if so, how many. If you run into any issues with the laws, you can stop by our Chicken Laws and How To Change Them section for help with getting the laws changed...

Next, you will want to stop by our learning center. Start by clicking on that first box at the top that says Getting Started. That will give you the push to get going! Then click on those other blocks for info on raising your new brood, building the coop, feeding and keeping your adult flock happy, healthy and safe from predators...
