My name is Cathie and my Husband is Eric. We live in Talmo, GA. on 6 1/2 acres. We just started raising chickens (built our chicken house after milling all the wood). I grew up with chickens, but that was so long ago, so I am new at this (as my Dad was the one who knew most of the care of them).

We have nine. Five Rhode Island Reds (one is a rooster) and four Barred Rock. We got them from My pet Chicken.

We found Backyard Chickens on Facebook, and also google while searching for answers to questions we had.

I also enjoy gardening, jewelry crafts, crocheting and am learning to knit.

I have two kids (both adults), one in he army stationed in Washington State. One lives 20 miles away from with her husband and two kids. My Grandson loves playing with the chickens.

I have two dogs (Pomeranian and Chia Pim) and a cat.
