Just want to say Hello and am very excited to be here. I just started my flock in April of this year. I started with a Rhode Island Red, Buff Orphington and a Barred Rock. I just recently hatched 6 cream legbar eggs 3 hens and 3 roos , they are 6 days old now. I wanted some blue egg layers. I love the auto sexing and it was a great experience. But I now need to find a home for 2 roos. Need some help finding good homes for them. I love my chickens and am finding this to be an incredible experience.

That's great that you hatched out some cream legbars, some people find them very difficult to hatch. I lived in Chicago for 22 years and it wasn't until I started following BYC that I discovered they allow chickens.

Who knew a city as large as Chicago would do that? Seems ridiculous that rural areas have so many restrictions or just plain don't allow them. I believe there is a Chicagoland Chicken fanciers club - you can find on google, maybe thru that you could place your extra roos. Good luck.

We're glad to have you.

To find good homes for your roosters, try asking on your state thread (Illinois...) to see if anybody nearby is interested. Once you have 20 posts, you can also post in the Buy-Sell-Trade section: Buy ~ Sell ~ Trade

Good luck in finding homes for your roosters!

You might do some chatting in your state thread with your chicken neighbors. Maybe someone nearby will take your extra roosters. Scroll through this link to find your state thread....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

And when you have 20 posts, you can place an ad in our Buy Sell and Trade section in hopes of finding them homes....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing

Good luck and I hope you can find them some nice forever homes. :)
