Good morning. I am new here and so tickled as my june chicks have started laying i have had chickens before.. But my husband has not. yesterday was the second day of laying. I had gone out eariler to check for eggs and found nothing. Sent the hubby out later... He returned with a huge smile. And an egg... " is it still warm'?" I think she just laid it.." She was still sitting there'. Ahhh his excitement was priceless! Like a kid in a candy store. We live in northern minnesota.. So i was hoping the cold and short days wouldnt keep them from laying til .spring. We have 2 RIR. 2 Buff orp.2 americana. 2 plym.rock.... And a duck..who thinks shes a chicken...
