Hi I am new to here. I do not have chickens YET I am hoping to get then this summer. So I am on here to learn as much as I can so I can get them this summer! Maybe someone can tell me where to buy a coop or get plans for one.

For sizing coops etc. Rule of thumb holds for 4-5 sg.feet per bird in the coop( excluding roosts & nest boxes) and 10 sg.feet per bird in the outdoor run. I specifically mention this because the ready made or coop kits that are advertised greatly overestimate the number of birds they can contain. As a rule they are pretty to look at but, will not stand up to weather extremes or predators.

There are many styles, sizes, and array of features in those on the coops section above.
