(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are picking up our first four pullets next week!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero!
(3) What breeds do you have?
We're not 100% sure yet, but we may be picking up two bovans brown and two dekalb whites.
(4) What are your favourite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We have been having a lot of fun researching and getting prepared for our new chickens. We still have to attach a bit more hardware cloth to the run and pick up a few more supplies, but we are almost ready.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Hiking, camping, canoeing, gardening, archaeology, VR...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a small family living in rural-ish Nova Scotia. We have an 18-month-old daughter, a 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, and a 7-year-old cat who all love spending all day, every day outside in our yard.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
We've found A LOT of super helpful info on here over the last few weeks.
