Hey there! I'm obviously in Iowa, but my mother and sister live in Las Cruces and I have a niece in Alb.............well, you know the rest. I don't have chickens yet as winter's on its way but our tractor is almost finished and I'm buying chicks in March...never have I been so anxious for Spring, and that's saying a lot with our Iowa winters. My mother used to have bantams in Northern California. My grandmother raised hundreds of chickens during the depression and actually bought a farm with her egg sales. My husband grew up with chickens and was main meat source for family of 13. I've never personally owned chickens but have been around them. Non-chicken people think I've lost my mind. Well, maybe.
hi everyone, i just went to see some propety that my dad left me in mayhill, n.m.
we are from florida, and almost died coming down that mountain on the west side.
We were pulling a lil. pop-up camper with our Jeep and had to go in 4 wheel drive up to the top of the drive way to get to the lot.
So scary, we don't have any hills anywhere in fl.
SO going down the hill, I didn't know to go in 2nd. gear.............duh..........almost couldn't stop, due to the weight of camper pushing us.
I went to see the property and we did. Then got down to the town of Alamagordo.
I thought Mayhill was beautiful, Cloudcroft too.
I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this area of New Mexico?
Should I sell my lot or keep it? i can't build a home there.
any suggestions is helpfull.
thanks
Mayhill is really nice place and close to Ruidoso. If you don't have use the property you could probably sell it pretty quickly but right now land prices aren't that good. How big is the lot? I can ask around, I have friends there.

You will LOVE chicken keeping!!! As far as people thinking you've lost your mind- being addicted to chickens is better and cheaper than being addicted to crack. LOL I told my hubby that the chickens don't MAKE me crazy, they just PROVE I'm crazy! hehehe Welcome to this sickness....

thanks writerofwords. the lot size is a little over 1 acre, the address is 147 bell dr.
There is a lot, right for sale next to it and I called the realtor and asked what the listing price was?
He said 14.000--16.000. without a foundation on it...But my property has a foundation on it?
I really wish we could move there, but no jobs and my kids would have a fit.
p.s. very nice of you,,don't go to too much trouble though.
