Can anyone tell me if the monthly poultry swap meet is still going on in Edgewood, and when the next one is? Afraid I've got too many Roos.

Looks like I'll be moving to Corrales! Stay tuned.................

Anyone in Alamogordo who can tell me if chickens are allowed in city limits? Would like to get together with some chicken lovers who to exchange ideas etc.
I live in Tularosa. I don't know about Alamogordo, but I think it depends on where you live in the city limits. Tularosa is everywhere is okay, you should live here!

Anyway, happy to get together sometime. What breed are you thinking about getting?

I just looked it up in the ordinances, it says that keeping of poultry inside the city limits is not allowed, but then on another page says that it is. I think you would have to go to the city to ask for clarification. See the following (hopefully they work):

Looks like if you are in District R-1 that is acceptable. Anyway, I'd read through the ordinances and then get clarification, probably from Animal Control, and get it in writing. Also would check with your neighbors to see if they have any objections. The only way the city would know is if someone called and complained.

I am thinking of getting white leghorns. Thanks for sending the ordinance links. I called them before and they said its ok, but do not have anything in writing. How can an ordinance be changed? We should get together and talk chicken. lol
