I now live in Colorado (plains) but I used to live in Taos, NM and that mountain is calling me. In fact, I was just talking about it to a friend...that used to live there too! We just might have to plan a road trip out to Taos Mt again!

I can dream!!!

Taos will always hold a special place in my heart...tugs at it from time to time! What a beautiful place!!!

albuquerque is about mid state and i am about half an hour or so south of that

Looks like there are few and far between New Mexicans on here. I'm just getting started, plan to start building my coop this weekend. Anything special I should know for chickens out in the southwest? Any advise for a newbie?

NM here too

We live on a ranch just north of Conchas Dam. The birds seem to do quite well as long as they have lots of fresh water and shade, and some damp dirt to nestle in.
