I would like to know if there is a 'typical' worming regimen for chickens in NM. I have at least one in my flock of 5 that has tapeworm and I am starting the Wazine (first worming ever) and then planning to use something powerful enough for the tapeworms in 10 days, after the Wazine clears out any of the roundworms and other types that it works on.

applecider vinegar, lots of different spices will work and vetrx works great too

If you can hold out until May 6th (a Weds) that's when The Village Mercantile in Corrales is supposed to get in the first of their bantam series in for Chick Days:
Bantams = Cochins, silkies, Dutch Bantams and Seabrights.

On May 20th is their second wave: Frizzle bantams, dutch bantams, Japanese Bantaoms and assorted Old English Bantams.

cool thanks, im writing all these dates down so I don't miss them, lol...ive been calling all the feed stores weekly and im sure they are sick of me now..lol..

Just got back from TSC in Bernalillo and they have straight run bantams, even a few puffball headed ones in there. (There was a REALLY cute gray with black striped one....but - I - must - resist)

Thanks for asking!

I did snag two Welsummer pullets at The Village Mercantile. I was at the store so early that those chicks never even reached the bins and were selected out of the shipping box.

The one lone White Marans that hatched out, alas, is a cockerel. So I'll be content with my two and -- who knows -- maybe when I refresh the coop in a year or two I'll venture a hatch again for the chocolate eggers. But right now my coop is F-U-L-L. (Or, should I say, my coop and the brooder area a/k/a the back bedroom)
