New Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin Chick.

There's some mottled lavender orps towards the bottom of this page: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=478-project-jubilee-mottled-orps

Here are some new pictures of my chick that I took lastnight. If you look REALLY hard you can just barely see his new feathers starting to come in. Some pictures make the new feathers look a little brown but I think it was from the light in the brooder room. The new feathers alternate between the darkish blue color ( like the stripes down his back ), then they have a band of a lighter blue, and then the tips are a nice crisp white. Argg.. I wish he would grow faster.

I thought I would throw in some pictures of my other chicks from that batch just for fun. These photos were taken lastnight as well.

This little chick is the friendliest thing ever. He looks to watch me when I come into the brooder and he always *smiles* for the camera.

Loved to hear opinions on my peepers.

I am now on a quest to find a nice mottled Lavender hen. If any of you hear about one, could you please send the info my way.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I found another picture of my "blue" hen on my computer. Thought I would share it too.

They're adorable! I bet you that first chick is going to be gorgeous. I can't wait to see him in a month or two. Do you know what the parents of your hen are?

What color are mille fleur chicks?
I hatched some of our here and one is yellow right now, only 2 days old so I'm not sure if it will be a buff columbian color or not yet.
Thank you,
Angela

If it is a bantam Cochin and you think it may have the Mille Fleur color it could be anything. We are seeing them all over the place according to what we have and what we breed. I have gotten some wacky chick colors that grow up to be very nice patterned chicks. And I get some of the usual colors that grow up black.
I always just wait and see since nature can throw so many zingers. I find it incredibly fun to watch them change and mature. Like that box of chocolates sometimes......
