New MOM! Need some help!

Our Silkie, Suzie, has had several attempts to hatch chicks, which we've indulged, not really thinking she'd be successful...she is not really a favorite of our 1 rooster (20 hens). But look! So meanwhile, what do we do? She shares this smaller coop with 3 other hens. Do I put some water in the nesting box? How do they manage the ramp?

The peeps are half Polish, half Silkie - they have feathered legs - very sweet.

just put some water in the nesting box and let nature take it's course if you do not think the eggs she is sitting on are fertile and if you want chicks you can always chuck some other fertile eggs under her and see what happens good luck

I never put feed or water in a nest box. A brooding hen needs to get off the nest from time to time

I know but some Broodies don't like getting off the eggs and if u don't leave food and water mummy could get really sick so I say if she dosen't want to budge when u try to look at her eggs and if she pecks u alot put the food and water in with her

If you don't leave it in the nest she will go get it when she needs it
