Although I grew up around chickens this is my first time actually owning any. We started with black chicks from my son's school and then went to the feed store to get more. We started out with 11 and found out very quick we were starting with too many so we now have 4. 3 are for sure Rhode islands and one supposed to be, she came from that bin but has way too much blonde and white. We love them and are 16 weeks in so wont be long before the eggs start to roll in.

:welcome We did the same thing with getting to many to start with but instead of going down the road you did and having less..... we ended up with more . Started with 6 and by he end of the month had like 20! They are addicting and so fun to watch and have apart of the family!

Yes I wanted to keep them but we werent ready with a big enough coop we are currently expanding and kept our rooster to have more lol

She could be Leghorn or Orpington. So much fun when they're little like that.
She looks like most orpingtons I have seen from here, so that's what we are thinking. She was all yellow as a chick and then came the white feathers. She is certainly the boss and loves to challenge the rooster since 8 weeks but is our vocal diva. She taught them how to take treats from me when the reds where scared. She is also the fattest one lol

Naturally. I have a cat that's the same way. 'Squeaky wheel gets the grease.'
