I need to get them scratch and probably if I can, return the oyster shell because we did get them a maximizer laying food for when they're older.

No need to return the oyster shell. Layer feed has enough calcium for an average layer, some chickens need more (and some less). It's a good idea to provide oyster shell on the side even if feeding layer.
