New momma hen has been gaping for 3 days. Ideas?

My bantam OEGB is 1 year old. She just hatched 3 EE's out 4 days ago. She is acting fine in all other respects, poop is still funky broody poo. Crop is empty this am, no odor. No mites. Vent is clean. Her weight isn't too light considering her setting and now mothering.

Her only symptom right now is gaping. Lots of it. The last bird a had do this-about 9 months ago, ended up dying from cocci. I can't see anything stuck in her throat- but she is a bit testy right now.

I wormed her before letting her set.

All clean bedding, with DE. I sprayed everything down with Oxine first.

Any one have any ideas on what is going on? Is this normal? Is she just stressed? I would be with triplets

Lots of possibilities...
might be as simple as throat abrasion or aspiration...there are some safe/simple things to try before panicking.

She has only been eating her pellets, so I don't think a throat issue.


Anyone have any other suggestions?
