New momma of 11

Just brought 11 babies! They are so cute I hope I do good by them. My first time with chickens. I keep checking on them and they have been sleeping under the light or running around eating and drinking so I think so far so good. Waiting for my dogs to figure out they are here.. and the cats! They are safe in our guest bedroom but I can hear little peeps so I’m sure not too long till there’s some curios creatures by the door.

Do you have something else you can use on the floor of the brooder? Newspaper is not ideal as it's slippery and can cause splayed legs. Puppy pads or large flake shavings are some popular alternatives.

I put some shavings in this morning. They all seem to be doing well after the first night here
