Hi everyone.... I am new to this! Having lots of drama. This morning I took an egg that I was sure wasn't marked ( which I learned to do ) and cracked it to put in my dog bowl and there is a chick with feathers and all breathing inside it. I can;t believe I did that!! I have no incubator. I'm not sure what to do. The egg has a hole in it now. There is a little blood. OMG! I need help fast! I have a little Momma sitting on a few eggs she already has a few chicks and I am wondering if I should put it with her. Only thing is that is is broken open. Can't be long from hatching though because it feathers are there,

I agree with egbert - keep the chick warm!
Good luck to you!

I have it in a little plastic bowl with wood shavings on the stove top with the oven on just a little warm .... I am wondering if I could put it in with my nice peaceful little hen?

Yes but it was unmarked so I took it into the house thinking it was new. It sat all night on my counter. I broke it open this morning. Its still alive. I have it under a lightbulb now. its nice and warm but I still wonder if I should set it under my one hen who has a few eggs and 3 chicks

not the hen I am planning to put it under. not sure which of the other 2 were sitting on it. I left one with the chicks and took the other out cause they were killing each others chicks

I thought it would be ok to out it under the one that seems more peaceful and is on her own. Maybe I should put it under the one I left with the chicks that were being killed? She was with that egg. Also should I let it hatch and then introduce it or do it now? OMG I had no idea what was coming.

Thanks looks like I am going to need it .... or at least the chicks that are in my care will. Geeeez!
