Hi All.....I am a new mommy to a wide assortment of chicks. They are a mix of cross breeds. I am looking at getting into some full bred breeds in time. Maybe even incubating. We have had an assortment of hens before but they were always my husband area of expertise, but after seeing the dark marans eggs I was hooked on what could be. Our goal is to not have 2 eggs the same color in an egg carton. I have been visiting this forum for a few weeks. I want to get involved and say thanks for all the info

I think that's a great goal! eggs are so pr-e-t-ty.
I feel like the Gollum from the Hobbit. -My pre-c-ious.... eggs. (Who needs rings anywho? I got chickens!)

Wow, that's quite a goal for you to reach; having 'no two eggs the same in one carton'. Sounds like you're going to end up with quite a collection of chickens. Have fun!
