New mother hen here

Hi every one.. I'm really looking forward to gaining great knowledge from these forums and I already have a handful of questions that I'll be posting.

I am a homeschool mom to 2 boys, 13 and 10.
I have 10 chicks warming in my basement and we are in process of building a coop and run.
We live in Iowa.
I will be raising 6 Easter Eggers of various types, 2 Columbian Wyandottes and 2 Cockoo Marans...... my mom couldn't help herself and ordered 3 Blue Laced Wyandottes to add to my flock. She gets visitation
We have wanted chickens since we moved to our acre 5 years ago but always kept pushing it off. With the events happening in our world, we decided that now is the time.
