New name for chocolate

😂 I entirely get where this is coming from. I have chocolate turkeys, and they go through the exact same bleaching process as chickens, so for a short time they’re a beautiful brown, then the rest of the year they look like dried out mud(I still love them though).
They don’t show much that much iridescence really, but when they were a deep brown they seemed very shiny. Mostly in the mornings, or afternoons when the sun would hit them at an angle.

I feel I should say that the beat up male is fine. My males had started fighting and I got that photo a short time after separating them. Nobody was severely injured.
My previous male, post-molt, directly in the sunlight. I feel like I see some iridescence.

I had a Orpington hen from that came out much lighter than all the rest of the chocolates in the hatch. Reminded me of cherry chocolate. So her name was Cherry. Sweetest girl ever. Loaned her to my son (she had just hatched out some chicks that he wanted, but he didn't have a brooder), and his neighbour's mutt climbed the chain link fence one day and got her. 😭

I have yet to see one with the sheen. If they had that I wouldn't be so disappointed in the color.

I don't like most of the matt colors. Need that sheen, gloss or iridescence.
Me too. I don't love the plain, solid brown, and the bleached-out ones look just plain yucky. I don't mind a lack of gloss though, if the pattern is significantly interesting: like a blue or a splash.
