(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
There's always a first time for everything and this is definitely a first! lol We got chicks 5 days ago from the local TSC.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 but probably going back for more since after reading here for days think we have 5 roos and 1 hen
(3) What breeds do you have?
Partridge Plymouth Rocks - chosen because they are cold hardy, large, calm and don't mind confinement.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Found BYC through a google search and it has already been invaluable!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, dancing, animals, outdoors........
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Hubby and I have 5 grandchildren, 4 that live close and are very excited about the chicks. We have 3 horses, 3 dogs, 3 cats and a goat. So why not add some chickens to the mix? lol Not sure what I was thinking but gonna give it a try! Right now the chicks are inside in a dog crate. I drew up the plans for a coop that will butt up to the existing barn. The chicken run will be partly inside the horse pasture with free range access to the pasture after we get some chicken wire around the existing fence and the chicks are fully grown.
