If you are planning on a small farm, I highly recommend the thread under "managing your flock" that starts out something like "Have 20 years experience in Poultry?..." Its contributors are mostly all experienced poultry guys (not hobbyists) who are in in mainly as a farm enterprise. I suggest you read the entire thread as it is chock full of practical, common sense detail about how they manage their flocks. I LOVE this thread.
