I caught her laying on 3 eggs. Is she broody? Is she sitting on a nest?
Sitting for days on end usually means you've got a broody hen on your hands. Broodies will puff up nice and big and screech when you get close to their nest. She'll only leave the nest every once in a while to eat, poop, and occasionally do some normal chicken activities, while sounding like a ticking time bomb in the process. Is there a chance that the eggs are fertile?I caught her laying on 3 eggs. Is she broody?
She's not acting like that just yet. Yes, there is a very good chance they are. The rooster won't stay off of her. But I take the eggs daily. Soon as I open the hatch she runs out.Sitting for days on end usually means you've got a broody hen on your hands. Broodies will puff up nice and big and screech when you get close to their nest. This may be why she's 'hiding' in the coop. The rooster won't stay off of her.

@aart it normal for a rooster to spur or attack a very rude bossy head hen. Off subjectThis may be why she's 'hiding' in the coop.
