Greetings - I couldn't find my old login information as it's been over 5 years since my last BYC login. So, starting fresh.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
First chickens were some farm store rhodies, barred rocks and one silly orpington. Learned a lot, with the next move our coop was predator proof. And a tank. So no more 'tractoring'.
When my ex and I moved to Port Hadlock about 9 years ago, took a bit to settle in and start raising chickens again. Got really, really into breeding - Icelandic and even talked an amazing breeder out of a pair of Rhode Island Reds that were to die for. Unfortunately, divorce. Yuck, etc. My children tell me the chickens were destroyed by a predator of some sort last year. Not the happy sauce. Anyway...

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Nine. Until the boys are big enough. Then probably 6. Still a little too young to tell for sure.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Just experimenting, so grabbed some older farm store chicks - figured what the heck, take advantage of being home due to COVID. One blue Andalusian, 2 red rangers, 3 black sex links, 2 gold lace wyandottes and... something else whateveritis. Maybe will get back to proper chicken breeding some day and get all snobby but in the meantime just want some eggs and to get the kids involved in husbandry.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs. Clucking. Peeping. Soup.
Part B - least favorite: Pooping in food. Knocking over water. Jailbreaks to the jaws of death. *rolls eyes*

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Ballroom dance. Reading. Spiritual gift studies. Raising my fabulous kidlets. Enjoying my wonderful partners. Confusing people. Educating people. Loving some of them. Disliking others. (That's a hobby, right? *checks Facebook* Yep, almost a required one)

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Own and run a Thrift store. Or just own one. For now, COVID has made that a side thing. Real Estate is my profession. Goes back to educating people. Of course, that's mostly back burner as well. We can do business, but it's severely curtailed.
Other non-human residents are an enormous Yorkshire, a Bearded Dragon and an orange Tabby. They are all joys. Except the number 2's. Kept me from having pets at all for a very long time, that. LOL

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :
Was a member way back in the early 2000's, not sure how I found you guys, probably researching coop designs and breed recommendations. Glad to reacquaint myself with the peeps here. Who knows, maybe if this goes on long enough I will be breeding rabbits again, too.

Joy to all,
-AG
