Howdy, new to your group. Been around chickens for many years. Time to start our own. Picked out 7 different breeds for laying brown eggs. A new beginning for the whole family.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I have been getting ideas for building my coop and run. Will start this spring for a late start or new beginning next year. I'm looking at the following breeds:

Golden Sex Link

Rhode Island Red

Production Red

Red Sex Link

Black Sex Link

New Hampshire

Black Australorp

I can say that I have been doing a lot of research on various breeds. I am mainly interested in brown eggs and these breeds seem to have the best going. If you can offer more input, please do so. The more information I have the better.
