I have 4 Black Australorps chicken. We found small trace of blood in chicken box but did not see any on the chicks. However my bird “Atilla the Hen” seems to have a lump on right side of Breast?lokking for thoughts, guidance, possible causes, and how to fix?????? Any thoughts and ideas needed please.

Pics help.... many new owners are unfamiliar with the crop, which holds food and can be construed as lump on the chest.

How old are your chickens? Blood can pass in poop and not be on chicks, but still be an indicator something needs to be dealt with.

Seems many of us have an Atilla the hen. :)

I believe it was the crop, it was normal this morning. Thank You for reply feel stupid now!!!!!

No need to feel stupid... It can be quite startling the first time you really see it.

Did you identify your source of blood? :hmm
No all chicks are fine no wounds

all chicks checked no wound , abrasions see no signs of blood.

Oh good. :yesss:

And no coccidiosis either? No one looking extra tired, or hunched up, standing with eyes closed? Just double checking since it can be fairly common in brooders. You would probably see more blood though if that was it the first time you were concerned. And you say no signs, that's great. :thumbsup
