New owner

I’m new to owning chickens. Have 2 EE that are 3 & 1/2 months old. We also have five dogs, the smallest seems most interested in what’s in the box. Have 4 more EE on the way. Absolutely a beautiful bird. Worked hard on our runner and think we did a good job.
We wanted hens, but a friend said they were roosters. I’m not sure. One does crow, but I read some hens will, especially if there isn’t a rooster. Are the roosters or hens?
