We've just acquired a 2 year old peacock that has been raised with chickens. He's very (and only) concerned with the baby chicks in the adjacent enclosure. Wondering why and is he ok with being only focused on them because he looks stressed out the way he just paces back and forth next to them all day and does nothing else. Thanx very much for any input.

He's actually with about 20 chickens in the new larger enclosure we just put up last week but he's separated right now because he's in a pen inside the enclosure next to the babies area that has a fenced top until we get the top done over the whole thing. The owner of the birds says he will fly away, will he? Or should we put a couple chickens in his pen with him until we get the cover on the whole enclosure and open his pen up to relieve his stress and possibly (hopefully!) calm his pacing back and forth all day by the babies on the other side of the fence? Or...do you think the pacing represents that he's stressed or is this normal behavior for a peacock? Thanx so much for your input and help guys! I'm learning!
