I am so excited about my new pen. My landlord gave me some PVC pipe he had used for a greenhouse and I am making a peafowl pen out of it its 20 x 50. should get the netting next monday just need to find something to go around the sides.

can't wait to see the progress,
just make sure you use some strong hardware cloth, not just chicken wire cause that stuff is made to keep birds in but not keep predators out.

I am getting a 25 x 150 piece of 2 inch knotted netting so it will work fine I am also going to put pvc supports in between each arch I will post pics as it develops :)

You do know that a coon can and will eat threw the netting right?
My husband and i have built green houses with PVC , we mounted the PVC hoops and bottom connectors to landscape timbers we put a support beam in the middle and solid plywood walls at both ends, one with a door the other with a window, then we covered it with chicken wire topped with greenhouse plastic, we just now took one down and it was 15 years old all it need was some new plastic and we could have kept using it.
Your gonna need alot of support to be able to pull a good heavy netting over the top.

There are alot of dogs around with all my neighbors and so I have not seen anything like Coons or Skunks thank goodness.

Looks nice for a summer house for them but I am not sure it will survive snow

I have my pen constructed out of wood and the snow weighed down the netting really bad, thought it was going to cave in on me. Don't know if the piping will hold the weight of the snow migh make it crash down, so be sure no birds are in it for the winter.
