I posted a while back about perhaps getting a hamster, and finally we got one last weekend. I feel so lucky, because the only petstore where we could find females (my mom was afraid of the males
) did not seem very good to me, some of the bigger hamsters looked unhealthy, there were a ridiculous number of hamsters in each cage, and one of the other hamsters bit me, but the one we got is extremely sociable, walks right up to you, and seems very healthy.
today I went to visit her (we named her sprite) after she woke up, and as soon as she saw me she started climbing up the side of the cage to try to get out and visit. definitely the friendliest hamster i've ever seen.
