Hey, I've seen this chicken before! He was on an old movie called Food Of The Gods..... He ate people in that movie so you'll want to step BACK from the chicken.....

Thanks! I really think it has to do with letting them free range or at least getting out to eat grass and moving around. Other than that I don't know.

He is a beauty ! We have 2 broiler roos that are almost a year old and they were allowed to free range too. People think they are the white turkeys in the yard until they get up close to them !!!! One of our hens lived for 3 years that we kept too. Great job!

I didn't even know chickens could get that big! Wouldn't they be tough eating by now? You're girl either needs a very large saddle or he needs more girls. Yikes!

Wow, I do BBQ competitions once (sometimes twice) a month and every competition we have to turn in half a fully jointed chicken (as well as 7 slices of brisket and 7 pork spare ribs). I bet that one would not even fit in the box. I sure would love to turn him in though.

We bought these as chicks from Belt Hatchery in Ca. I also got my rir's from the same place. Seems as though they have decent stock.
I would say there is probably 15# of meat on this chicken. I'm sure it's not the most tender but I'm not gonna eat him anyways. I just want to see how big he can get.
