I'm being told by some breeder friends of mine that because of the lighter color, this could possibly be a splash! Either way I'm quite happy with it, as this is the first blue gened bird I have EVER hatched. Now If I could just get the buffs out!​

I think you might be right... I had a couple of BBS orpingtons hatch that color... they would have been splashes if they had survived. Way cool!!

I know right! I am enjoying this hatch WAY more than the last. I guess its the thrill of not knowing what to expect since this is the first time I actually hatch blue/splash babies. Its always been whites or blacks in the past.

Here are some updated pics from this morning. I could hardly take the pics because all this chick wanted to do was crawl into my hand! Its not the first time, but it isn't all the time a little chick has been so desperate for attention. They normally scurry around the brooder, he just hops right up! He's just 24 hours old!
