Nice. I would love to have a building like that. Nice and solid. A few extra inches of insulation for winter and a wood burning stove. Facing east is my fave for homes. I like the morning sun at breakfast. It also keeps a bit cooler eh.

No prob. They aren't as fun as pigeons, but they do lay tasty eggs on a daily basis during the season, unlike pigeons who only lay two.
Also, one edit to my comment before, when flying quail and using a recall pen, most use a recall "funnel", not a bob door. It works sort of like a fish trap. Quail recalling is not even close to as consistent as homing pigeons. If you want to keep quail for eggs and such, it's best to just keep them caged. I only know about recalling because bird dog trainers use them that way, and when they leave a field with quail not shot and flown away, they will sometimes use a recall pen with one male in it to recall the fly aways.

Actually no joke.. I had just started raising them and only had five. I had the outer door propped open and dropped them from the small cage into the big cage and didn't realize the other end of the cage door was open..The cage is 12 ft long by the way. I went inside to eat lunch and when I came back out not a bird to be found.. Lesson learned.. Double containment doesn't work if the doors are not closed on at least one of them....

Predator proofing your loft does not work if you leave the man door to your building open. Ask me how I know.

You could ask me too because I am also a proud member of "that" club. I had 27 AmericanFatails 7 of which were shoe-ins for the local show.
Predator proofed my loft by elevating the floor at 3' above ground, stucco-wire on the screen portion of the door, then left the fold down step folded down
the day before box-day(box them for transport to the show). Although they were good looking birds and would throw some real good chicks the 3 left alive 
were not winning birds.
Mink can fit through stucco-wire....and 
they can jump pretty good too.
Mink like killing to stalk the larder.Live and learn.. Shoulda listened to my dad.
Weasels have the same personality and believe it or not can fit through a smaller gap than mink (and of course an open man door). I lost all but one of my baby chicks to a weasel + a few pigeons in one attack. The next attack; years latter, I lost all my pigeons to just "ONE WEASEL". I released one but the other I had to shoot for he was trap wise and took up residence.

OMG! I think I saw weasel[or mink] once while walking my dog very early! Can they get thru 1" square wire openings?

I think not and hope so for your sake. On the other hand if it were ½" x 2" I would say yes. Ask me how I know.
Could not seem to locate it. I think I like this one better. It maybe a bit of o tippy canoe with that particular style of bottle (top heavy) other styles may serve better employing the same method.
