New plan! (LOTS O PICS, adding them as I go)

It's gorgeous and wonderful, and can you guess I love it? Your babies so near and dear to you is so nice and it looks good too!
I know you are probably relieved, but just wait, now the decorating gene will kick in soon. Enjoy!!!!

Thanks gals! I'm hoping to get the last few things done this morning and then add the girls later this afternoon. I won't be around tomorrow, so I really need to get it done today...I'm flying to Portland, OR to get my nephew for his yearly visit and have to be gone from the house by 4am! It's going to be a long day, lol. I'll get lots of pics though!

Also...we find out how many babies my sister is having (and the sex(es)) in 11 days! I did put up a poll on my blog about it...I also posted a belly shot of her in a post (not that I told her I did it though). If she is actually having twins, I have to plan a baby shower for late August or early September, before the snow thinks about flying and I can actually safely travel! I'm going next week to Costco to buy a big box of diapers to make a diaper cake for her, with three boys already, she has most of the essentials so I figure this is perfect.

Okay, off to make breakfast to bribe my other half outside and into work mode! We have scrap wood to move! I better get a ramp figured out ASAP too...I still have no roost or ramp!

Finally done and the girls are OUTSIDE!

I had all these "fancy" latches to help secure the run gate...and in the end, we cut a chunk of 2x4, drilled a large hole in it, and made a swinging pivot to hold the doors together! It works great though and the 2x4 wire mesh means I can't accidentally lock myself in or let the chickens out!

The girls were enjoying it so much, they even held still for pictures! First up is Clyde, she was my darker colored SLW as a chick. I really love her lacing pattern now! They are starting another molt though...so it might change again?

This one has all three, but Henri was walking straight at me, so I finally got a good shot of her feather pattern! Up close the black looks like little freckles on her white feathers, lol.

Lastly, Gerty was the only one to allow me to "catch" her after I put fresh sand in the new sandbox! So, when I left them outside, she was the only one who was enjoying it, lol. I did get a little stink eye for getting so close with the camera though...

I appologize if the photos are huge...my computer hates me, but I swear I made them all little in Photobucket!

Wonder how they are gonna like staying out there tonight? Beautiful birds! Now to get your bench stationed and enjoy!! I am sooo impressed with you and how much you have done on your own to build this coop. And so cheap too!! Amazing....

Thanks everyone!

Linda, yeah, I probably should stop the "plan" post, lol. But, the blog has a poll and stuff too! Go vote on what you think my sister is having, the doctor sprung a "surprise" twin ultrasound on her in 11 days! Up until a few weeks ago, she thought all the twin talk was him teasing her, lol.

We've made a few changes to the coop this week. We finally got the surveillance camera in and working! We had to replace the "phone jack" end on the main wire going to the TV after we pulled it through the wall because we accidentally pulled two of the four wires out of the connector (oops)! But, since my other half is an IT guy and knows what he's doing for that (and we have a box of Ethernet cable connectors), he was able to put a new end on, modify the thing that connects the camera to the cable, and get it working again!

We also cut a window above the pop door. I did this for two reasons...I can now look in to make sure everyone is there and I can also now see into the nest box (that they aren't using). It is NOT a pretty hole by any means, but it serves it's purpose!

We still need to add hardware cloth around the top of the coop...Gertrude, my Barred Rock, has started laying! The first two were in the coop and appeared she was sitting on the roost and just letting them drop. Then, two days went by and I hadn't seen any more eggs. We both went out in search of them and my other half found them in the very small "crawl space" above the coop! This space is only about 6 inches tall at the highest point! Anyway, to keep it from happening again, we temporarily stapled up empty soda boxes to keep her from getting up there. So, the next day, she laid her egg in the space that I covered in hardware cloth that actually is above our heads on the outside of the run! No egg yesterday, but I have high hopes for today, lol.

My SLWs are still not laying...but not acting like roos either, they're all 19 weeks today, so they have a little more time, lol.
