Rose had no time to react when she was scooped up. Instincts soon kicked in though, and she struggled frantically

Kaydar shifted the weight of the creature, looking at her from the corner of his eye and grunted. When she began to struggle he swept his right wing out from under his cloak, lightly smacking her in the leg with the side of his wing in an attempt to get her to be still. "Who are you and why do you follow us?" He growled menacingly.

Gardenia watches with wide eyes as he smacked the green clad woman with his wing. "Sire... She has caused us no harm and we do not yet know her intentions. We are not Elves and should not act like them."

Rose gave a swift kick after being hit with his wing. She scowled "I'm not following anyone, and none of your business. Put me down!"

Kaydar made no reaction to the strike, not feeling it or not caring about it even he wasn't sure which. What he did react to was the sound of Gardenia's voice. Her timid, frightened voice that reminded him so much of his beloved Ellayn. She had spoken to him in the same tone when they had first met. The anger left him and he grunted, letting the woman role from his shoulder and onto the ground. "My business or not to begin with, I have now made it my own. Who are you?" His voice was still stern, but it lacked the rough growl that it had before.

Tollia spun on her heels without another word, racing down the street and disappearing around a corner. Gar nodded, offering his hand to Florence and then Sterling. "Thank you for your help, we both appreciate it greatly. You have to forgive her, she... she hasn't lead the easiest life." Gar bit his lip, unsure of why he was saying so much, perhaps it was some strange power of Dragons to draw out secrets. "She was abandoned by her mother when she was a week old, left on the doorsteps of the church. I found her, alone. She looked like an elf child, except..." He glanced over his shoulder, making sure none could hear him. "She had a tail, or at least she seemed to have one. The women of the church bundled her up so quickly that I could not be certain. When I said something about it later I was told that it was because she was a Wildling. I am not sure if they were speaking the truth or not, I have never seen a pure blood Wildling, only Mongrels like myself and apparently you as well." He nodded to Florence. "She has these flashes, of another life, another time. And in them she sees that golden dragon. She hates her past, hates what it has made her, has done to her, but at the same time she wants to learn more. Surely you can understand why she acts so strangely, she carries a lot of weight on her shoulders. I only hope that we can find him, that we can finally put her mind at rest. She deserves to know who she is." He paused, meeting Sterling's eyes, pleading with him to understand. "What she is." He started to turn, already wishing that he had not said so much to a creature he had just met.

Sterling hesitated. "If needed be I can help you find him if y'all need me too," He said hesitating a bit not sure if he should be helping them but he had already offered his service so he would help. Florence stood quietly unsure of what to do now.

Gardenia leapt off of Keeper's back and rushed over to the young woman. "I am sure that the Sire meant no harm. He is just... focused... He has a good heart and I can bear witness to that. Are you traveling alone?"

Rose landed neatly on her feet. She brushed off the skirt of her dress with one sweeping hand and looked up at Kaydar " Rosemary. Or Rose" She huffed

Rose turned her gaze to Gardenia with a slight nod "It's fine, just don't pick me up like that again" She glanced at Kaydar with a mischievous glimmer in her eyes

Gar blinked, wondering if Tollia would hate him for what he was about to say next. "We would be glad of your help, I have to see her fears put to rest. How can you find him? Is it a skill that you Dragons posses?" Gar stopped himself before asking if Dragons' minds had some kind of link, it was just a foolish folktale. That was the problem with Dragons, there were so many tales and lies and fables that surrounded them that Gar had no idea where the truth ended.

Sterling tapped his nose as if that answered his question easily.

Keeper stepped up to Gardenia's side. "It's not safe for anyone to travel alone at night in this forest, the Elves are always looking for a new conquest." He said in his soft voice.

<Speaking of Elves, do you two mind if Skylur makes an unwanted appearance?>
