Thank you all for the warm welcome. I appreciate it very much.
DonnaBelle, we also, came from a way too populated, very stressful area in NJ even though we were "far" from actual cities. For a couple years, I kept putting pictures of houses/farms for sale in front of my husband. He'd always say "When I retire..." He finally saw the light, that if he didn't get out of the rat race, he wouldn't live to see retirement.

Last night, I added a pair of Millefluer Leghorns and a Black Jersey Giant roo and a Blue Jersey Giant hen to my flock. Actually, quarantined from the flock for a bit. I answered a craigslist ad and found out I knew the seller! Great luck for me as she gave me the blue hen for free!

The millefluer coloring is so beautiful! And the Giants are Giant!

I too just joined this forum yesterday. Sounds like we are somewhat neighbors. I live east of Springfield, about 65 miles. You are an angel on earth for the work you do with the alzheimers and dementia patients. I lost mom almost a year ago to it and had moved in with her 5 years before that to care for her. She was such a great lady and coming up on the year anniversary of her death is hitting me pretty hard. I don't understand anyone being able to do that for a living, but thank God that there are people like you.
