Went to the thrift store this morning(big sale) and got a nice sized styrofoam cooler for $.50, rectangular and has a good amount of space inside and a flat lid so I can install a window.
I read a little online about using a Thermostat to regulate the temperature. I have access to a thermostat and even a light socket(salvaged) but am not sure if I would need anything else to wire in as well. I have seen fans used, but would this make it harder to regulate the temperature with a 75watt light bulb?
My brother is an electrician and agreed to install what I need, just to be safe. but he has no idea what I need for the project so I am looking to my fellow chicken folks for some advice!!
Any input from people that have made homemade bators using thermostats would be much appreciated. I am assuming I will have to wire tyhe bulb into the thermostat but again, not really sure how to put it all together.
