I have 4 older hens. 1 stopped laying a few months ago. 1lays every 2 days or so. They've got a home for life, mostly because the help reduce tick population!
I'm planning on picking up 4 pullets and realize they need to be quarantined.
1. Seperate coop...quarantine how long? 2 weeks?
2. Do I keep them seperated from older hens, but behind wire so they see each other? Or completely seperated until after quarantine?
3. Add them at night?
Always got 4 or more hens from same flock...never introduced new...

Biological quarantine is more like a month, and that's them being kept completely in a separate area at least 100' or more with no shared items and clothing changes in between each flock.

After that period you would start integration. I've never added older birds but the safer route is to have them in see-but-no-touch for 1-2 weeks before they get to meet face to face.
