I don’t have a Maltese, but thought I would share.

Kiki was sold as a “Maltipoo”

Don’t think she is one though. She may have Maltese or Terrier blood…I’m thinking at least.

Dogs really do grow fast. No, correction, time in general passes so fast! Blink once and now Kiki is 2! Weird to think that (in dog years) she will be older than me soon…

Oh she is SO adorable! Yeah, don't blink when keeping a dog, the years pass by WAY too fast! The long fur screams Maltese, possibly Westie. I don't see any Poodle in her at all. Definitely Terrier of some sort due to the standing ears. Does the hair keep growing? Do you need to have her trimmed?

No, she is not double-coated and is actually really susceptible to the cold. Her hair is really funky (possibly the inner Terrier in her). We have never gotten her trimmed. She also used to have really bad skin (I think she is allergic to turkey). I have finally found a brand of food that she is doing good on. But she is still super picky.

If she doesn't have an under coat then she could be a Maltese Westie cross? That's what she looks like to me. Both breeds are single coat. Toby has food and environmental allergies (pollen). He is allergic to Chicken, Lamb and Fish, legumes of any kind as well. He is not only picky but he is very self regulating and will skip meals if he gains weight or won't eat if he isn't hungry. (Wish I had this problem. )

What brand of food are you feeding her? I have been using several different brands and switch between Rabbit, Turkey, Pork and Beef so he is less likely to develop an allergy to a particular protein.

She sure was adorable Debby!! Pure love there, I can see how much you loved her in her eyes!! You need to get another puppy Westie Debby, just tell the cats the puppy is a kitten.
