Hell, I'm Leon. I got six quail eggs at a reptile expo the other day, and I'm trying my hand at incubating them. I candled them and three of them were clear and likely not fertile, but the other three are heavier and look like they could have something growing in them! I'm using a cheap little giant incubator and I've been hand-rotating them. There's also a separate thermometer + hygrometer in there since the little giant one is trash. I'm not optomistic that my first incubation attempt will be successful seeing as how many variables have to go right, so I'm considering getting more eggs and some more thermometers + hygrometers.

Welcome!! Good luck on your hatch! Hoping you can get a few quails soon! ❤️

Welcome! Don't be too discouraged if you don't have a good first hatch. A first try with only 6 eggs that may not be fertile, hand-turned in a cheapie incubator is a gamble for sure! Of course, you might be surprised by how well it goes. Some eggs really, really want to hatch. :D Wishing you luck!
Haha yeah that's why I'm not too optimistic. I didn't realize how many parameters need to be right before I dove into this lol.
