new research debunks trad views on nutrition

It's not so much that organic produce is fraudulant, it's that the hype could lead one to believe that the produce is clean. A little bit of research will show that there are no clean crops and haven't been for many years.
So, organic is less dirty hopefully in many cases.
Are we healthier eating organic crops? Some very mixed views on this topic and not really any long term research. Somehow I doubt it. I'm pro organic but not for personal health reasons. It must be better for everyone in the long run if we reduce the chemicals we use for pest management and growth rates given most are obviously poisons.
A wider view on the health for everyone is we couldn't grow the required volume of produce required to feed an expanding population of both us and our livestock without these chemicals and people dying of starvation knocks a very big hole in the better for everyone view.

My hope is people will form a more informed and rational choice about what they eat. There isn't much point in eating organic food if you finish the meal with a tub of ice cream, and/or eat pastries and biscuits all day. My belief is the biscuits/pastries/sweet stuff and junk food, are likely to kill me quicker than the chemicals found in the raw produce. I could be wrong.:p
I try to buy organic because of the planet rather than my health.
I will likely die because of the choices I have made over the last decades rather than the choices I make now.
Well that, or tripping over in the Chicken Palace and being devoured by my birds.
So I want to do my part to encourage reduced use of pesticides for the sake of nature.

speculative sweeping generalisations help no-one.
https://www.diffen.com/difference/Mold_vs_Yeast
There is penicillin allergy and there is yeast allergy, they are different allergies but someone can have one, none or both.
If you want to talk to my medical professional as to why they told me to be cautious of all moulds in relation to penicillin allergies and not yeast or mushrooms then you are more than welcome to.. but they have been correct in their advice so far.

citric acid was the topic, and it contains neither.

just because a mould is used in the production of something, it does not follow that any part of the mould, and in particular whatever upsets your body (or more likely, something in your microbiome), is in the final product.

eta so this is what an AI throws up

Mould in Food Production

When mould is intentionally used to make a food, such as cheese, soy sauce, or vinegar, the mould itself does not remain in the final product. Instead, the mould grows and breaks down the food’s components, producing compounds that contribute to the desired flavor, texture, and aroma.

When you look up the manufacturing of Citric Acid and Xanthan Gum there are warnings and statements that mould makes it through the manufacturing process into the final products. So I'm thinking that there is mould in the final product just based on that.

well if that was thought to be a genuine risk, the legal department of Waitrose would, I'm sure, insist on the inclusion of some sort of disclaimer on their label, and the possible allergen would be in bold, as per UK law.

Your caution is understandable if you have a penicillin allergy, but it is not supported by research I've read and your post https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...trad-views-on-nutrition.1567953/post-28249266 therefore appears to be spreading scaremongering misinformation about citric acid to readers of this thread.

So it is saying it is safe to eat the foods that doctors tell us to exercise extreme caution about... I'll take a big chunk of blue cheese and a swig of soy sauce please just so I can float around in a hospital for a while 😂
