Hi! I'm new to this breed. I've had chickens when I was growing up and raised them for 4-H. It's been a LONG time since then and I've missed having them around so we got some little Rhode Island reds from our local tractor supply store. We don't know what we have just yet and I'm hoping for some hens. Could you guys help me out? I just love them :)

Not sure on how to tell sex on your chickens. Were they pullets? Have reds myself. They have great personalities. Can be quite the characters.

How old are the birds in these photos? They appear to be under two months of age, is that accurate? If that is close to the right age, there are at least a couple of cockerels in the mix. To make it easier to address each chick, I would take a nice individual shot of each bird in a natural, standing position and a nice head shot showing the status of the comb/wattles - post them numbered or lettered so that we know the bird we see in the group shot, for example, that looks like a cockerel is or is not the same bird shown in the last photo. This is especially helpful with birds who are so similar in appearance.

They were all mixed so we have no idea what they are yet. A couple weeks after I got them the store got a whole bunch of pullets in. Lol.

Have to do them one by one or else I'm gonna get confused. Lol. They can't stay still either! Lol. Little buggers.

Yes, they are under two months I'm guessing. We got them when they were little fluff balls.
