New ro the crew. Hi everyone!

Are the chicks warm enough? Too warm? What's their feed? Fresh water? What type of substrate do they sleep on? :old

I had 10 chic all together now I have 12 on my screened in patio (I'm in fl) so I felt like its nice and warm outside as we finish our outside pen. I give them chic starter feed and spring water (used bottled or jugs) and I have baskets and a few boxes om there sides with the pine shavings the store told me to get. Plus they have lots of perching options out there aswell. These chics where really small if you look in my one pic the little tan and brown ones are the ones that have passed. So far All the rest are doing amazing 😀.

Thanks for the response. Seems you have done what you could. (Losing baby chicks is sad):(

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry you lost a few. :hugs Never easy on the heart. But you have come to the right place for all the fun and learning! Make yourself at home here and ask as many questions as needed. Welcome aboard!

My name is Ashley. I recently bought 4 leghorn chicken, 4 Golden chickens, and 6 bantam. Currently 2 of my brown and tan bantams have sadly passed away leaving me with 4 (2 black, 2 with fros). My favorite part is that they are cute and fun to watch plus qhoncan forget about the eggs and fertilizer they give. One of my hobbies is playing video games! I'm married with 4 kids and 1 dog. I'm currently a SAHM due to all this covid so I can home school. I decided to join here yesterday for any help I may need and to also learn more about chickens.

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people!
