You'll just have to see how he does. Personally, I won't tolerate a badly behaved rooster. My livestock are 'working' animals, not really pets, even though we treat them very well, but if they are difficult to handle or don't pull their weight, they are food.
I am the unfortunate owner of a rooster who will crow all night. He starts at about 2 am and sounds off about every 5 minutes until sunrise. It might not work for all, but I found a solution for my boy. I put him inside a comfortably sized cage and cover him with a dark colored, thick blanket like you would a pet parrot at night. He's warm and comfortable and quiet, and I let him out at a more appropriate crowing time. He only crows a couple of times during the day. I also own a rooster that I think is mute...he doesn't make a sound! The noisy one is a Jersey Giant/Buff Orphington cross, and the quiet one is a bantam Ameraucana cross.
