New Roo with clipped spurs

I recently acquired a nice, mature rooster with some hens and the previous owner mentioned that she clipped his spurs before I picked him up and said that he was a bit ouchy to walk around. I have had him a week and he does seem to be doing better, but will still lose his balance when he tries to step any direction but straight ahead.

At what point should I be concerned that there is something else going on with this rooster. It has been exactly 7 days today. He has a good appetite and seems healthy in every other way. No coughing sneezing normal feces, eating well, drinking well etc...

Did she just clip off the tips or the whole spur? If she just cut the tips, he shouldn't have any side affect. If she cut off the whole thing, he might be in pain and or infection. If it's neither of those, I would suspect something more serious. Let us know and
