Is your run covered?

That's theoretically enough room for 8 birds -- unless your run is covered, at least partially walled, and accessible from the first light of dawn until dark, in which case it functions as an extension of the coop.

I forget what your setup looks like.

8x20 run is fully covered and predator proofed. the pop door stays open 24/7 so the birds are free to come and go as they please.

they also have 3600sqft of fenced in yard space that they’re let out into most days

So functionally an 8x24 coop -- just with two rooms.

I *thought* that's the sort of setup you had, but I couldn't remember for sure.

haha yup. that’s what it is.

i wonder now that there are roosts in the run if any of the birds will sleep out there in the summer.

Throw a hay bale in there they can use to step up. It’s easy to break down use as litter, replace, adjust as needed.
