New Rooster, ducks and day olds!

What a combination! Timing is everything I guess!! After work tomorrow I pick up the black australorp cockeral we've been waiting for (ALL his eggs/breedings were fertile

).

Turns out she also had a large order for chicks and the people bailed last minute - so hubby agreed to 6 chicks - will be a few days old.

Then, I followed up on the australian spotted ducks and they were still available so what the heck, on a roll, I'll pick up the 5 on Saturday!

Talk about an easter weekend!!

CHICKS:: They'll be set up in our old terrarium, 4 feet long x 1.5 feet wide x 1 high, with screen top, 175 watt red heat bulb. Pine shavings, starter chick feed. Watch for pasty butts. Water will be a small screw top and a chick feeder dish thing.

It sure is and I can't wait.

I think we're ready and have the right idea. Our first time with babies in a brooder. We've had one clutch of ducks before and mom lost one.
