new rooster front kicking at hens

Shouldnt he get used to them. I've read on this site and others that roosters can be friendly. I don't want him to think of them as intruders in the yard.

Yes, roos can be friendly - never mind, oldhenlikesdogs as beaten me to it! - thanks

I know who raised him. They interacted with him and he free ranged along with their 3 Maltese dogs. He doesn't act at all aggressive towards us. Hes done nothing to make me fear him for humans. It's just towards hens ovr food. I'm gonna just keep an eye on him. If I see hes still being aggressive towards my girls, hell just have to be gone!!!

I had a rooster that behaved this exact way, and I kept him because he was not after the humans....until he got me in the leg with his spur. Its probably a minimal injury as far as roosters go. But his spur went through my jeans, which now have a small hole in them, and my leg has a hole in it as well, and was badly bruised. Your children are sitting so it would not be their leg, it will be their face or their chest, and they are small. I cried, it hurt. They really don't need to go through it. Just trying to give friendly advise, please don't take the wrong way, I just would hate it if he got them.
