Last Saterday I got a new rooster and now he's not doing so well 3 days later. He's a Silver Laced Spitzhauben. It was about a 2 hour drive from where we had got him so he was in the car for quite a while. The first hours at his new home seemed ok and they all treated him like he's been living there for weeks and they never pecked at him. He ate with the hens and everything but was really quite which I assumed he would be until he got comfortable. Since then he's began to keep his distance from all the hens plus bantam roosters by staying on top or in the nest boxes. I'm affraid he hasn't really been eating or drinking much either. He'll come out and explore the coop when I let all the other chickens out of the coop. Theres no evidence he's being pecked at. No missing feathers, blood, or scabs. I'm just wondering if he's in shock and if crating him for a few days would be a good idea or not?

I don't have a rooster but that behavior sounds like when I introduce a new hen to my mix. It just takes them a while to learn their pecking order so he may just be laying low until that's established. I would assume when he's hungry enough he'll get food/water.
