I bought a new rooster a week or two ago he is a thai they said I named him BEELZEBUB I like unusaul names for my critters this is not him but it is a picture that looks just like him he is to be true I think the word is. I am thinking of puting him in show to see how he does my brunehilda I thought was to get disqualified but she wasn't so that is about the worse but it didn't happen. he is nice and takes treats from my hand I hope he gets real friendly like my cornish cross that rooster would sit with me as I pet him. I think I heard from one of these board a chicken can learn it's name I think I will try to teach him his name I will do it in the summer it is to dang cold right now

My rooster looks just like this exactly like this

what do you all thiink I wonder if I let chicks be what they look like would they be long legged like daddy or look like mama

this is the hen if he was to have chicks he did her not 5 minute in the pen with the hens.

Beelzebub looks like he is one dinosaur of a rooster. Who knows what a cross with that hen would look like. It would be a surprise.

BTW, I try to teach my chickens their names by saying each chicken's name as I hand them a treat.

I agree, he is some kind of rooster!!

thai chickens are really like dogs; and they can learn their name and also some commands... the mixes come out sort of gangly, not as nice as the rooster, and as far as personaltiy, they are very different then the fluffier chicken types.... they need more room to move, like their freedom, they are game cocks, so their 'fighting' spirit is much higher, and they have a mean kick, (to otehr chickens)...

u should read up about them in the oriental /asian chicken thread....

yeah I think thatmight help I think the treats and saying his name might be good I know chickens are not totally dumb I have had a dog or two that just could not learn a thing it was amazing they knew their name REALLY I think you all know THAT type of dog.

Thanks
